Get the Look: Spring Street Casual

Winter isn’t exactly done with us yet, but the pleasant air of springtime is surely imminent. As the days extend themselves bit by bit over the next few weeks, soon enough we will be shedding all things wool for more weather-apropos looks. So be prepared –all ye puffy coats and double-lined boots. Spring (fashion) is most definitely on its way.

With spring on the brain, I’ve been making my rounds on the web – looking for several pieces to make up a perfect post-winter look. From solid-colored sneaks to versatile blazers, and a pop of color for dramatic effect, here are some of the things that I look forward to adding to my wardrobe once the blustery cold bids us farewell:

The banded, or “Mandarin,” collar makes a come-back this spring, and looks perfect in this white polo from Massimo Dutti ($49.50 USD from massimodutti.com). Pair it with a pair of black zip-cuffed trousers (like this pair from Cos; $155.00 USD from cosstores.com), and a pair of gray (gris fossile) matte effect lambskin high sneakers by Balenciaga ($585.00 USD from Balenciaga.com), and you’ve got yourself the base for a standard yet stylish look. Dress up your look with a gray dry lightweight jacket like this one from Uniqlo ($49.90 USD from uniqlo.com). Then use a pop of color, like this blue fabric web belt ($5.99 from hm.com), to add a much-inspired accent to the classic base colors of the overall look.

As you look toward spring, be sure to keep your looks light and interesting. From modern iterations of classic silhouettes, to bright colors set against basic blacks, whites and grays, there is a point of inspiration for everyone.
