Travel Essentials to Keep It All Together

I’m back “on the road” again today, but this time just for an overnight business trip. It had been a while since I last packed up an overnight bag for a quick work trip, but nevertheless it had me wracking my brain for what to pack. And even as seasoned as I am with this, I still sometimes need to take a step back and really think about what it is that I need to bring. I’m guilty of being an over-packer; you always want to have options no matter what. But if there is anything that I’ve learned from my experience as a road warrior, it’s that “less is more” when it comes to packing. Most of the time, the only person that will really care about what it is you’re wearing is yourself…

That said, however, there are a few staples that always travel with me whether I’m on the go for work or for leisure. I find it extremely important to have the following items with me whenever I’m on the road: a good face moisturizer (yes, fellas, it’s important to make sure you stay hydrated –even in your face!), eye cream (because let’s face it: when you travel, chances are you’re going to need a few cocktails to get you through… eye cream comes in handy for those nights you might happen to have a little more than you intended), and a decent hair product (no matter what the situation, you’ve got to make sure your hair is presentable). My essentials:

products_travelBorage Anti-Shine Moisturizer SPF6 by Korres – Lightweight, and provides a matte finish –which, for me, is key. I am naturally “shiny,” so this product helps me a ton. The borage oil helps to uplift fatigued skin, and the product does a great job of catering to my needs while I’m on the go.

Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer by Kiehl’s – Another “lightweight” product that helps to soothe and cool the eye area, saving it from puffiness. Let’s face it, sometimes we just need some help with our eyes. I, personally, am not a plane sleeper, so more often than not, my eyes are always an issue for me when traveling. This product provides me with instant cooling, and makes me feel comfortable as I prepare for my next meeting, or taking in the sights of the big city.

Redken Water Wax – I have coarse hair, which acts all sorts of weird depending on the weather. Luckily for me, Water Wax pomade by Redken helps me keep my hair together in all weather situations. It takes just a little dab to help me keep control of my hair, while adding enough shine.

So what kind of products are a “must” for you? Calling fellow road-warriors to share your knowledge!

  1. From a guy’s perspective, face moisturiser is definitely a must! Can’t be having dried skin in the blistering heat hahah. Iphone too, for google maps obviously… 😉
